Getting started
Your first useful result, one step at a time.
Choose a small task, use a plan you are allowed to upload, and keep the inputs simple enough to check. This guide follows the current browser workspace.
Want to see a complete example first?
Follow a two-room Loads example from the teaching plan to calculated results and the actual report format. Download the plan and report without an account.

Create a project and choose your workflow
Create an account, follow any email-confirmation instructions, and open the Projects dashboard. Create a project and choose Peak Loads, HVAC, Plumbing, Hydronics, Sanitary Drainage or Underfloor Heating for the task you want to do.
Check before continuing: You can start directly in the discipline you need; a plumbing task does not require a thermal load model.
Step 2
Upload a small floor plan and set its scale
In the workspace, open File → Upload PDF Background. Use a clear plan with a known dimension. Choose Calibrate and use two known points to establish scale before drawing or calculating.
Check before continuing: Check a known distance and the selected SI/IP units. Changing display units should not change the real geometry.
Step 3
Build one small, connected example
For Loads, trace a space and review its envelope and internal inputs. For HVAC, connect a source, duct and terminal. For Plumbing, choose the intended cold/hot service. For Hydronics, connect the equipment and matching pipe circuit. For Underfloor Heating, start with one heated room, a manifold and its loops. For Sanitary Drainage, connect a fixture and a gravity branch.
Check before continuing: Start with a small task you can independently check. Review connections and the selected level instead of assuming overlap means connected.
Step 4
Calculate, then inspect the result
Supply the required design conditions and module inputs. Run Calculate Loads or the module’s sizing action. Review the Results panel, assumptions, units and any warnings.
Check before continuing: If an action is disabled, check prerequisites such as calibration, connected items or required inputs. A number is not a substitute for engineering review.
Step 5
Save and reopen your project
Choose Save and wait for the saved-state confirmation. Reopen the project to check that your work is present. Use the review/output controls available in your module when the example is ready.
Check before continuing: Output formats differ by module. Check the available command before assuming a drawing, report or schedule format is supported.
If you get stuck
No confirmation email?
Check spam/junk and the email address shown. Use the app’s resend option and respect its cooldown before retrying.
Plan looks too small?
Use the view/zoom controls to bring the working area into view. Confirm calibration before relying on a drawn length.
Unexpected calculation?
Review units, required inputs, connections and selected method. Share a non-confidential reproduction through Contact.
Prefer to begin with a quick calculation?
The public calculators work without an account. Use them to explore an engineering input or check a small example before opening a project.
No account needed for public calculators.
